Journalism School
Of all the five schools, media has the most noticeable
impact on Missouri Boys State. This stems from the fact that the
media school participants actually become journalists at Boys State.
The "students" become the reporters, producers and technical
staff behind the MBS Media, which is seen across Boys State.
When a participant chooses to attend the media school,
he must then make another decision: what part of the media they
want to be in. In an effort to mirror real life, there are three
main mediums, and they are actually used during their week at MBS.
The participants are required to do everything that a normal media
company would do. They find stories, report, produce, raise money,
etc. Every effort is made to make the situation as real as possible.
Each media offers its own unique styles and challenges
to those who work within it.
Each of these are produced daily with content based
upon the events taking place at Missouri Boys State.
