MBS FAMILY MOURNS THE LOSS OF CHUCK RICHARDSON
The Missouri Boys State Board of Directors and staff are
saddened by news of the death of the first governor of the
first Missouri Boys State Charles C. “Chuck” Richardson. Richardson
peacefully joined the post everlasting on Saturday evening
February 24, 2007 at the Indian Creek Nursing Facility in
Overland Park, KS with his family at his side. He was

FINALIST FOR THE SAMSUNG AMERICAN LEGION SCHOLARSHIP
John Craig Campbell of Mansfield, MO was selected as one of
approximately 99 national finalists for the Samsung American
Legion National Scholarship. Campbell was selected from among
over 110 applications by the state scholarship committee of
the Missouri American Legion at The American Legion State Convention
in Joplin, MO the weekend of July 16-18. Campbell will now compete
nationally for one of seven four-year college scholarships expected
to total $20,000 each. By virtue of his selection as a National
Finalist, Campbell will receive a $1,000 scholarship, if not

Terence Roosevelt-Clarke Williams of St. Louis was elected Governor

Through an agreement with Boys State’s host university,
Central Missouri State University, Boys State’s new headquarters
is now located on the west end of the CMSU campus. In addition
to the relocation, the board of directors of The American Legion
Boys State of Missouri announced the addition of Bettie Rusher
as Manager, Development and Administration, a full-time position
