A member of the Boys State staff since 1945, Charles Mickey distinguished himself as one of the most recognizable symbols of the Missouri Boys State program. Serving as athletic counselor, counselor and banker, Charlie was a member of the MBS operations staff for 22 years. Prior to his death in 1995, Charlie served 52 years as a member of the MBS staff, which is still a record length of service for a staff member. A war veteran and past state legion commander, Charles Mickey dedicated much of his life to the betterment of the youth of Missouri.
