On behalf of the Board of Directors of The
American Legion Boys State of Missouri, Inc., I am pleased
to join over 100 volunteer staff members in saying, "Welcome
to our website." I hope you will take a few minutes to
browse and learn more about this outstanding program.
Our website will provide an overview of our
program, familiarize our supporters and potential participants
with our objectives and recap past Boys State sessions. It
will also provide users with contact information related to
our headquarters administrative staff.
The American Legion Boys State of Missouri,
Inc. is a 501(c)3 charitable not-for-profit organization.
The goals of the Board of Directors are to provide a top-quality
educational experience for its participants, continuously
improve the programs and curriculum and ensure the financial
stability of Missouri Boys State well into the future.
The American Legion Missouri Boys State is
the country's premier citizenship training program. Boys State
has been developed on the central philosophy that students
can best "learn by doing." We have been recognized
nationally for our innovative style and training expertise.
We are extremely proud of this program!
Over the last 70+ years, nearly 50,000 Missouri
Boys State participants have benefited from the efforts of
our dedicated volunteer staff. Many former Boys Staters are
now successful, productive citizens who demonstrate the qualities
of outstanding leadership and citizenship. Many of these participants
point to Boys State as the catalyst for their success. A vast
majority of them would tell you that their time spent at Missouri
Boys State was truly "A Week to Shape a Lifetime."
Our program is determined to build on the
success of past years and continue to provide the youth of
Missouri the same quality program that their predecessors
have been fortunate to experience. We hope you enjoy our website
